Inclusive Overhaul
For-men-only salons have been popping up everywhere, but in between the grade-school-type distinctions of "boys-only"and "girls-only" spaces lies the equal-opportunity Barber Lounge (barberlounge.com). This sunny loft in San Francisco can more than comfortably host both bride and groom for a day of his n' hers pampering.
The unisex salon - part barbershop, part spa and part beauty parlor - is undeniably hip. Its interiors are designed to look like a contemporary apartment, and feature skylights, comfy couches, and shelves filled with art and design books.
The old-school men's barber station offers haircuts (from $25) and hot-towel shaves ($30) in retro leather chairs. Grooms can try the "Barber Facial" ($95), which focuses on the specific needs of male skin (razor irritation, ingrown hairs, and blackheads).
Meanwhile, brides can head to the mod salon area for a cut and color (from $65 each), a mani/pedi (from $20 each), even lash extensions (from $250). On the unisex menu: waxing, custom facials, massages, spray tans, and body scrubs - everything you two will need to get your faces and bodies in top form.
